Riverby Estate 2007 Chardonnay
Pale lemon in colour, this chardonnay has a powerful, rich nose exhibiting ripe stone fruit characters, peaches and nectarines,
hints of caramel and butterscotch, and lovely subtle vanillin notes. On the palate it is rich and vibrant with an attractive baguetty,
mealy complexity. It is elegant and spicy with peaches and cream smoothness and citrus and cashew flavours. Impeccable acid balance,
beautifully integrated oak and restrained alcohol give lovely texture and balance.
This wine has tremendous concentration and impressive length with the promise of even more complexity as it evolves and develops.

Riverby Esate 2007 Riesling.
Pale straw in colour, it has very fresh, ripe, tropical aromas with underlying citrus notes and a hint of vanilla.
On the palate it is crisp and tangy, full bodied, with a good acidic backbone. Mineral and limey characters dominate this still tight but elegant wine.
It finishes decidedly dry, but also delicate and intense. Peach and honey flavours linger beautifully on the long crisp finish.
This is a stunning food wine with a long life ahead and many flavours yet to evolve.

Riverby Estate 2008 Sauvignon Blanc
Lemongreen. Bouquet is sweet, ripe and mild, black passionfruit more than red capsicum, faintest sweet basil, all a little milder than the Astrolabe Voyage.
Essential flavours are very similar, so this is a good Marlborough sauvignon for those who find many of them too sharp.
It is drier than the commercial average, though. Cellar 2 – 8 years, to taste. GK 04/09

The intense aroma of stone fruits and florals dominate this wine, but is balanced by a spicy oak aroma to produce an incredibly complex wine. This complexity is carried over onto the palate where it is enhanced by minerally acidity which gives it texture and great persistence. The stone fruit flavours of pears and apricots linger throughout the palate with a toasty oak influence apparent. This wine shows a pristine varietal character not seen in other Viogner wines.

A stunning cool climate Chardonnay. Yellow straw colour in the glass with a brilliant appearance. Aromas display ripe tropical fruit, some custard apple and nectarine hints - these follow through on the palate. The wine fills the mouth and has full flavour and displays some minerality, spice and almond meal. There is very good acid balance and fruit/oak integration resulting in a beautifully balanced 'linear' wine of great finesse. At the correct serving temperature, I suggest about 10-12 degrees Celsius, the wine is seamless and satisfying, rolling it around the palate it is hard to resist. Maturation in high quality French oak adds the spicy, almond meal flavours and a creamy aftertaste.

This Mornington Peninsula Pinot Grigio was made in the classic Italian style (without malolactic fermentation or oak influence) to preserve the fresh and lively characters of the variety. The nose exhibits citrus and honeysuckle while the palate is full of pear, apple and a touch of tropical fruit and minerals. It has a wonderful crisp and dry finish - a hallmark of Italian pinot grigio style - together with just the right fruit weight and texture to complement food. Match with goats cheese, chicken, seafood, sushi or Thai food.
